The first service of New Hope Chapel Baptist Church was held in the home of Drew and Darlene Brown on April 20. 1997. Through guidance from the Lord, a new work was launched to reach a community for Christ. After several services at the Brown’s residence, a door was opened to start renovation on an old blue jean factory on it’s current site in Rome, Georgia. After much hard work and labor, along with many memorable funny stories, the church held it’s first service in its new sanctuary on April 25, 1999.
With renovations finally completed, the church began outgrowing the fellowship hall. So, in the fall of 2005, with the pouring of the concrete slab, the building of the “Upper Room” fellowship facility began. Then, in April of 2008. The church came together and had its first dinner in the new building. God has been exceptionally generous with His blessings at New Hope.
Coffee Bar
On Sunday mornings, we serve delicious hot and iced coffees. During the holiday seasons, we bring out the classic favorites such as pumpkin spice, hot cocoa, and hot apple cider. Please come and worship with us while enjoying our He-Brews Coffee.
Coffee bar opens EVERY Sunday morning at 10:30AM!!
All profits from the coffee bar goes toward the Youth Program
Dr. Drew Brown, senior pastor
Dr. Drew Brown is the founding pastor of New Hope Chapel Baptist Church. This ministry began in his home on April 20, 1997. Drew is a graduate of Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville, GA, where he holds the following degrees: Associates in Sacred Literature, Bachelor of Theology, Master of Ministry in Theology, and Doctorate of Ministry in Theology. With an evangelistic heart, he serves the Lord in full-time ministry. His desire is to spread the word of God as far and wide as possible and see many more souls saved for the Glory of God's Kingdom. Drew resides in Taylorsville, GA with his beautiful wife Darlene.
Hunter Ortwein, Youth Pastor
Hunter Ortwein is the Youth Pastor here at New Hope Chapel Baptist Church. He has a deep love for the youth of today and has a Goal to see them become on fire disciples for christ. Hunter is a certified electrical Line-worker as well as a certified Communication Officer and currently works as a fiber optic line installer outside of his role as Youth Pastor. With a heart set on leading the next generation to Discipleship and relationship with the Lord, Hunter is always thinking of new ways to reach out to the community and touch as many lives as possible. His one desire above all is to reach as many lost and broken souls as possible and show them the love of Jesus Christ. Alongside Hunter is his beautiful wife Paige. Paige has a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts from Young Harris College. She currently teaches English Language Arts as well as Theatre/Drama at Cedartown Middle School. Together Hunter and Paige share a deep love for the Lord and they both have a heart to serve. Hunter and Paige reside in Lindale, GA.
